5 stars. As always, Meyer's sci-fi-cyborg-retellings are probably not going to ever disappoint me, mainly because I'm in love with everything: the writing, the characters, even the switching chapters. I would have thought nothing could've topped Cinder and her badassery, but no–Scarlet can. I was a bit hesitant on the fact that Meyer would be able to continue both Scarlet's and Cinder's story, and I was proven wrong, which I'm glad about.
And Wolf.
Just–gah.
WHY AREN'T BOYS LIKE HIM REAL? He's wanting me to eat tomatoes, and I hate tomatoes.
And as for Cinder, I was always Prince Kai's servant, but now I'm thinking I'd rather fall under Captain Thorne's command ... (I
so did not mean that in a kinky way.) Thorne is just amazing and cute and the
best comedic relief I've come across, but he's better than just a "relief," of course: great character, great sense of humor, great personality. I've fallen in love with him. (Okay Cinder, you keep Kai, I'll keep Thorne. Truce?)
And both stories were amazing, though I preferred Scarlet's, I admit. (
Cinder: When did you switch sides?! /
Scarlet: Mwhahaha!) After reading
Cinder, I thought nothing could top her story, but
Scarlet has. Now I'm the same about
Scarlet (because I mean, hello, it includes both their stories!), but what about when
Cress comes out? Will my loyalties switch?
I can't believe I have to wait a year for
Cress. The world is a cruel, cruel place.
